Dalton State to offer classes in Murray County

Submitted by Dalton State College

— Dalton State College will offer several core college classes at Bagley Middle School beginning in January.

“Murray students have a long history of choosing Dalton State,” said Charles Johnson, dean of External Programs for Dalton State. “We have more students from Murray than any other county except Whitfield. We look forward to serving even more students in this important community.”

Among the classes to be offered in Murray County will be Fundamentals of Speech, Introduction to Psychology, English Composition I and College Algebra. Classes will be taught by Dalton State faculty and all classes are offered late afternoon or evening to accommodate working students.

“These classes will benefit Murray County tremendously and we look forward to a continued partnership with Dalton State in the future,” said Brittany Pittman, sole commissioner-elect for Murray County. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Three information sessions will be held at the Chatsworth-Eton-Murray County Chamber of Commerce. Step-by-step instructions will be provided on how to be admitted and enroll in courses. The sessions will be held Thursday evenings, Oct. 25, Nov. 15 and Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. College representatives will also be on hand at the Black Bear Festival Oct. 20-21 to answer questions.
