The Whitfield Healthcare Foundation’s 20th annual Golf Invitational held recently at The Farm raised $101,330 to benefit Hamilton Medical Center’s cardiac care and medical intensive care services expansion projects.
“For 19 years, this important annual fundraiser has been successful in attracting over 120 golfers from the community and other Hamilton business partners and raising over $1,071,000 in net revenue for Hamilton Medical Center’s patient care services,” said Sharon Love, foundation director.
The team of Jack Bandy, Murray Bandy, Steve Crane and David Noll shot 56 to win the first flight victory. Finishing second was the team of Jerry Stovall, Michel Pare, Chris Carlson and Jeff Fieber. In third was the foursome of Wayne Soud, Chuck Haynie, Steve Burke and Nathan Reuter.
“We are especially grateful for the 21 tournament sponsors as well as the 124 golfers who participated to make this year’s Invitational successful,” said Robert Smalley, foundation chairman.
TEAMHealth Atlantic Inc. again stepped up as the presenting sponsor for the tournament and premier sponsor was SODEXO Health Care and Technical Services.
In the second flight, the team of Brian Chambers, Jeff Carter, Jeff Rutherford and Graham Fox won first place. Lamar Lyle, Greg Brock, Randall Holley and Terry Baker were second. Claiming the third place position was Ernie Luttrell, James Luttrell, John Anderson and Scott Williams.
First place in the third flight was awarded to Danny Wright, Sam Collins, Lee Phillips and Corey McKenzie. Second place went to Todd Taylor, Chris Mann, Blake Adcock and Will Robinson. Brett Kidd, John Golding, Ezad Ahmad and Jeff Hughes placed third.
In the fourth flight, Bob Dilbeck, Tim Tankersley, Jared Hedden and Drew Tankersley claimed first place. Second was the team of Tim Pysell, Alan Martin, Michael Slover and David McKinney. Randy Russell, Paul Fields, Bo Callaway and Gary Parker came in third.
All golfers competed in closest to the pin and longest drive contests. Custom fit drivers were awarded to the winners of the closest to the pin contest.
Jason Clark was the closest to the pin in the first flight on No. 8, Craig Tidwell in the second flight on No. 5, Danny Wright in the third flight on No. 11, while John Antalis was the closest in the fourth flight on No. 13. Longest drive winners on No. 18 receiving a $50 pro shop gift certificate were Jason Clark, Jeff Rutherford, Sam Collins and Drew Tankersley. The lucky winner of the par three poker challenge golf gift package from Barnsley Gardens Resort was Randy Russell.
