Northwest graduate drowns

A 25-year-old Resaca man drowned Monday at Lake Lanier in the area of Van Pugh Park North, a Gainesville newspaper reported.

Kyle James Miller was a graduate of Northwest Whitfield High School in 2005.

The Gainesville Times reported that a Hall County marine rescue team recovered the body of Miller, who was reportedly swimming to an island with friends when he went missing.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dunagan Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
