This year, the AARP Foundation is again providing free tax preparation assistance and e-filing of both federal and state returns for taxpayers with low to moderate income through the AARP Tax-Aide program.
AARP Tax-Aide, in its 44th year, is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service. You do not need to be a member of AARP or a retiree to use this service.
This free service is being offered at the following locations through April 15 during the days and times noted:
• Dalton-Whitfield County Library, 310 Cappes St.: Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed Friday, March 29); Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (closed Saturday, March 30).
• Mack Gaston Community Center, 218 Fredrick St., Dalton: Mondays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
You must present a photo ID and Social Security or TIN (taxpayer identification number) card.
