Gov. Sonny Perdue has appointed David G. Hamil of Rocky Face to the County & Municipal Probation Advisory Council.
Hamil, 55, is director of the city of Dalton Probation Department and is an administrator of the city of Dalton Municipal Court. He previously served as a probation officer and court services supervisor for the city of LaGrange.
He is currently a member of the Georgia Municipal Court Clerk’s Cooperative Authority, Georgia Council of Court Administrators and the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.
Hamil has a Basic Law Enforcement Certification and a Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police Chief Executive Certification. He is married to Beverly Hamil.

VARNELL — A woman who knows fugitive Adolph Ray “Sonny” Neal — wanted in the deaths of his wife and her grandfather a week ago today — said she shouted, “Oh my God, it’s him!” as she and her husband traveled south on Ga. Highway 201 Wednesday afternoon.
