The Value Fresh supermarket on Cleveland Highway is looking for new owners. But the owners of two other businesses in the Dalton Village Shopping Center say they have been told by the shopping center’s management that that will not affect other businesses at the site.
“Diversified Business Services and Revive Salon are not closing. In fact, we are just opening,” said Willie Ables, co-owner of those two firms. “Our grand opening is Aug. 7, and we will have prizes and free refreshments.”
Katie Hasty, the other co-owner of those businesses, said the owner of the shopping center at 2410 Cleveland Highway also owns Value Fresh.
“They are talking to other supermarkets and other investors to come in there,” she said.
According to Whitfield County tax records, the owner of the shopping center is Dalton Shopping Center LLC of Cumming. A telephone listing for that company could not be found Thursday afternoon.
The 35,000-square-foot Value Fresh opened its doors in February, and was the first store in the shopping center to open. It employs about 55. There’s no word on how long its owners will keep the store open while looking for new investors.
The Dalton Village Shopping Center consists of three retail buildings with about 123,000 square feet of retail space. In addition to a supermarket, the shopping center hosts a nail salon, but most of the space is still empty.
