Area Arrests


• John Michael K. Cox, 21, 110 Cox Road, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with theft by taking, theft by deception, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, giving false information and probation violation.

• Elaine Willette Dalton, 36, 1890 Norton Bridge Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of methamphetamine, sale of meth (five counts) and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• James Larry Day Jr., 31, 511 Cantrell St., Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Georgia State Patrol with deposit account fraud/bad checks.

• John Otis Flemister, 40, 210 N. Easterling St., 214C, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with false imprisonment and battery (family violence).

• Jessica Godfrey, 26, 276 S. Holmes Road, Resaca, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with first degree forgery and theft by receiving stolen property.

• Margarito Hernandez, 21, 322 Goodwill Drive, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and license required.

• Leonel Resendiz, 22, 1128 Underwood St., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI, speeding and driving while license suspended.

• Mathew Howard Scoggins, 25, 491 Weatherly Switch, Cleveland, Tenn., was charged Thursday by the Cohutta Police Department with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Steve Anthony Hamrick, 55, 174 Vann St., Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Collin Christopher Wheeler, 22, 65 Jacobs Bend, Talking Rock, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with battery and probation violation (two counts).
