Nov. 11, the day set aside by the nation to honor its veterans, didn’t officially become “Veterans Day” until 1954, when President Dwight Eisenhower signed the law changing World War I’s Armistice Day to Veterans Day — a federal holiday recognizing all of America’s veterans.
