• Gregory Lynn Arnold, 49, 44 Dunn St., Crandall, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by shoplifting, burglary and criminal trespass.
• Earnest Kendall McDonald, 47, no address listed, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with terroristic threats and acts.
• Porsha Cinda Lynn Teasley, 23, 4978 Mitchell Bridge Road, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with security interest violation and theft by taking.
• James Tracy Brown, 36, 111 River Meadow Drive, Calhoun, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony theft by shoplifting.
• Christopher Lance Silvers, 22, 1618 Hyden Tyler Road, Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Chatsworth Police Department with DUI, possession of marijuana, failure to maintain lane and driving too fast for conditions.

Dalton Middle expands, Morris Innovative moves under proposed plan

Tentative plans to increase Dalton Middle School by approximately 26,000 square feet are in the works as officials continue discussions on how to accommodate the growing student population there.
