The final suspect in a trio of men charged with breaking into cars in a Spring Place subdivision was arrested on Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office, and authorities say the three are related.
Matthew Milton Griffin, 18, of 6430 Bonny Manor in Chattanooga, was charged with 13 counts of entering an auto and one count of theft by taking. Jeremiah Mark Griffin, 21, of 2036 Ballground Road in Chatsworth, was charged on Aug. 13 with 13 counts of entering an auto, two counts of theft by taking and probation violation for burglary. Daniel Kurtis Griffin, 22, of 255 Charger Drive in Chatsworth, was charged on Aug. 13 with 13 counts of entering an auto, two counts of theft by taking and parole violation for theft by taking and theft by receiving stolen property.
“They were breaking into cars in the Springdale subdivision back in August, which is off (Highway) 225,” said Chief Deputy Ray Sitton. “They are either brothers or cousins.”
Matthew Griffin and Daniel Griffin are still in the county jail. Jeremiah Griffin was released on a $10,000 bond on Oct. 21.
