The 20th Annual North Georgia Mountain Christmas Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 5, leaving the Murray County Saddle Club at 6 p.m. The theme is “When Christmas Comes to Town.”
The deadline for all entries is the Monday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 23.
All entries must have a definite holiday theme. Parade officials have made arrangements for one Santa to be in the parade to eliminate confusion.
Parade rules include:
• No walkers will be allowed on Hyden Tyler Road.
• All walkers will line up at the First National Bank parking lot.
• No throwing of candy — candy handed out by walkers only.
• All floats must be decorated and in line by 4:30 p.m.
• All riders need to be on their float by 5 p.m. at the latest.
• Floats must be hooked once they reach the Saddle Club. You will not be able to unhook and leave your trailer without a tractor.
• All trash must be picked up before you leave your area.
Award categories include Most Outstanding Float; Best of Theme; Most Musical; Best of Lights; Best Religious Theme; Best of Walking Group; Best Spirit Award; and President’s Choice.
The rain or snow date is Sunday, Dec. 6.
