Senior Expo on Thursday

The Dalton-Whitfield Senior Center will host a Senior Expo sponsored by Healthcare Products on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 302 Cappes St.

Healthcare Products is a company providing Medicare-assisted products such as diabetic shoes, diabetes testing supplies, items to help relieve pain associated with arthritis, poor circulation, neuropathy, back problems, muscle and joint issues and more.

Certified fitter of therapeutic shoes Robin Wall and senior adult assistant Gwen Bigler will be available to share resource information and answer questions. There will be door prizes and giveaway. Services are free.

Sheriff: Murders were ‘crime of passion’

Two homicides in Dawnville early Thursday morning were a “crime of passion” and the suspect who is still on the loose is “dangerous,” Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood said at a press conference Friday afternoon.
