A Rocky Face woman was killed Tuesday after her car crossed the center line on Ga. Highway 201 in western Whitfield County and crashed into a dump truck head-on, said an operator with the Georgia State Patrol.
Penny Bagby, 50, of 2041 LaFayette Road, was pronounced dead at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, where she had been airlifted from the scene. Whitfield 911 reported receiving the call at 9:42 a.m.
Bagby was driving a 2004 Acura sedan when she “crossed the double lines” near the intersection with Dunnagan Road near Westside, said the GSP spokeswoman.
The GSP operator said the report was incomplete. A reason was not given in the report for why Bagby crossed the centerline.
