Area arrests for June 28

• Sherry Anita Powers, 36, 3437 Mount Pleasant Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking a motor vehicle.

• Randall Dewayne Wingfield, 46, 4061 Loftis St., Chattanooga, Tenn., was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, failure to maintain lane, following too closely and open container of alcohol.

• Rodney Brandon Winkler, 25, 1097 Bishop Pond Road, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with illegal possession of a prescription drug and open container of alcohol.
