• Avery Boyd Cronan, 49, 180 Strain Road, Cohutta, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of firearms by a convicted felon and bondsman off bond.
• Kevin Maurice Robertson, 30, 608 Ezzard Ave., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with battery, third degree cruelty to children, second degree criminal damage to property, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving while license withdrawn and fleeing or attempting to elude police officer.
• Mack Edward Hall, 50, 1907 Mineral Springs Road, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with three counts of deposit fraud.
• Jason William McGill, 31, 240 Old Sawmill Spur, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, open container of alcohol in vehicle and DUI.

Two homicides in Dawnville early Thursday morning were a “crime of passion” and the suspect who is still on the loose is “dangerous,” Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood said at a press conference Friday afternoon.
