• Franklin Reid Botts, 44, Route 26, Ringgold, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with probation violation (first degree forgery) and fugitive from justice (Jackson County, Ala.).
• Aaron Keith Clark, 21, 117 Downy St., Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with burglary.
• Antonio Barragan Gutierrez, 18, 811 Brentwood Drive, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with probation violation (theft by receiving), battery, obstruction of an officer and loitering.
• Paul David Newberry, 45, 5394 Cleveland Highway, Cohutta, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with terroristic threats and acts.
• Robert Chaz Smith, 17, 216 Bright Road, Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Varnell Police Department with DUI, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and speeding.
• Patrick Levein Baker, 39, 411 Anderson Road, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with reckless driving, wrong class of license, possession of methamphetamine and parole violation.
• Robert Price, 67, 403 Water St., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with parole violation, possession of meth and obstruction of an officer.
• Edy Rendon-Triana, 25, 1303 Rio Vista Drive, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI.
• Christopher Lamar Robertson, 34, 3227 S. Dicks Creek Road, Lafayette, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of meth.

DSC professor charged with more child sex abuse counts
A tenured Dalton State College professor who was charged with one count of child molestation last week had additional child sex charges related to other victims added on Wednesday, according to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office.
