• Luis Herman Arevalos, 20, 625 Fourth Ave., apartment 25, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
• Shane Kenric Jones, 35, 1693 Halls Chapel Road, Crandall, was charged Thursday by the Georgia State Patrol with possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to distribute and DUI.
• Steven Wayne Lee, 22, 158 Arnold Road, Rock Springs, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.
• George Presley Wall, 43, 712 W. Taylor St., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with theft by deception.
• Brandon Troy Grady, 22, 2112 Club Drive, apartment 6, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with tail lights required and DUI.
• Ronnie Marce Wilson, 27, 1495 Old Ringgold Road, Tunnel Hill, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with tails lights required, failure to maintain lane, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, open container in vehicle and DUI.
• James Joseph Zirbes, 68, 103 Old Mill Road, Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Chatsworth Police Department with following too closely and DUI.

Photo released of jewelry theft suspect
The Dalton Police Department released a picture of one of the men who allegedly ripped off an area jewelry store of about $7,500 in a “bait and switch” style theft on Saturday. The theft happened at Casa Blanca’s Jewelry. The suspect pictured, who identified himself as Luis Solis and presented an apparently fake Nevada driver’s license, also posed for a picture for the store clerk during the transaction. Dalton’s pawn broker ordinance requires all sellers to be photographed by the store. The two suspects were described as Hispanic males with slightly heavyset/stocky builds. Both wore jeans, with one man wearing a dark blue polo shirt with white stripes and the other wearing a lighter blue or white shirt. One suspect had a ponytail and facial hair.
