The driver of a car that struck and killed a motorcyclist in Murray County on Sunday has been identified.
Loretta Patterson, 30, 2828 Halls Chapel Road, Crandall, has not been charged in the accident at the intersection of Sumach Church Road and River Road, a spokesman with the Georgia State Patrol post in Calhoun said. A Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) will reenact the accident before that decision is made, the spokesman said.
Patterson turned left onto River Road in front of Frankie Junior Hamilton, 27, said Jonathan Parker, senior trooper with the Georgia State Patrol. Hamilton was not able to stop and the motorcycle struck the front end of the car, throwing him into a ditch, Parker said.
A phone number for Patterson could not be found.
