Satterfield named Dalton fire chief

From Staff Reports The Dalton Daily Citizen Tue Feb 24, 2009, 11:02 AM EST

The Dalton Public Safety Commission hired Bruce Satterfield as fire chief on Tuesday. Satterfield had served as interim fire chief since former chief Barry Gober's retirement in November 2008. Satterfield has been employed by the fire department since March 1980.

Sheriff: Murders were ‘crime of passion’

Two homicides in Dawnville early Thursday morning were a “crime of passion” and the suspect who is still on the loose is “dangerous,” Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood said at a press conference Friday afternoon.
