Woman dies in Christmas Eve wreck
A Dalton woman was killed on Wednesday in Gordon County when three vehicles collided in Resaca.
Helen Juanita Banks, 76, was a passenger in the GMC Sierra driven by her husband, John Banks, who was sent by ambulance to Hamilton Medical Center before going to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. A report on his condition could not be obtained Thursday night.
The wreck occurred in the 2700 block of U.S. Highway 41 North at 5:27 p.m. Officer Shane Cloer with the Resaca Police Department said there were six injuries, and that some were sent to Gordon Hospital in Calhoun. The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
