The Murray County office of the Dalton-Whitfield Community Development Corp. will sponsor a one-day home buying seminar on Saturday in the conference room of the Murray County Recreation Department on Hyden Tyler Road from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The seminar is for first-time home buyers and those who have purchased a home in the past.
Qualified applicants may also be able to access funds from a Community Home Investment Program (CHIP) grant toward the purchase of a home. Lunch is provided and the seminar is free. Two homicides in Dawnville early Thursday morning were a “crime of passion” and the suspect who is still on the loose is “dangerous,” Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood said at a press conference Friday afternoon.
