Although each day may see small fluctuations, the three area public school systems have reported their enrollment figures for the first few days of school, officials say.
Dalton Public Schools reported that its most recent count on Monday showed 6,702 students, up 4 percent from last year, or approximately 6,430 students at the beginning of that school year.
Whitfield County Schools reported 13,527 students on Monday, down from 13,582 students at the beginning of the previous school year.
Murray County Schools reported 8,004 students on Monday, compared to 7,948 at the beginning of the previous school year.
