Faith Worship Center in Chatsworth will be transformed into Mayberry of “The Andy Griffith Show” on Saturday, Aug. 30, with dinner and a show beginning at 6 p.m. Attendees can have their picture made with “Barney Fife” (Sammy Sawyer), eat a “blue plate special” at the diner and visit the jail and barber shop.
Sammy Sawyer, from Tennessee, is an impersonator, humorist and Christian speaker who has entertained in several states and delivers a challenging message using clean humor and thought-provoking stories from a Biblical perspective, church officials say. His Web site is www.bfife4life.com.
There will also be a drawing for one of Aunt Bee’s baskets filled with homemade goodies and a lot more. The cost is $25 per couple, $15 for single, $5 for children and children under 5 free.
The theme for the evening is Proverbs 17:22: “A merry heart (laughter) does good like a medicine.”
