The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 112 of Dalton has adopted the Georgia War Veterans home in Milledgeville and is collecting hygiene products and personal items for delivery on Saturday.
The organization is seeking pajamas, baseball caps and DVDs.
“We recently celebrated the Fourth of July, honoring our nation’s independence,” squadron commander Jack Malone said. “Yet a lot of people have forgotten about those veterans who without question or regard put their life on the line for what they believed in: duty, honor and freedom. It is one of our goals of the Sons of the American Legion that this never happens. Please don't forget our fallen comrades and the things that they stood for.”
To help or for more information, call Malone at (706) 581-7349.
“On behalf of our veterans and the Sons of the American Legion I would like to thank you for your support of our veterans,” Malone said. “We could not ask for a more caring community than we have in Dalton.”
