Dalton police arrested a 27-year-old man around 11:30 p.m. on Christmas Day for allegedly having sex in a vehicle with a 16-year-old girl at a local park.
According to a Dalton Police Department report, a police officer saw a red Jeep Cherokee in the southwest corner of the parking lot at Heritage Park, 1250 Cross Plains Trail, and noticed the windows were “fogged over.” When he approached, the officer noticed a male and a female in the back seat. The pair “jumped out” of the car on the opposite side of the vehicle when approached by the officer, the report said.
Donny Clayton Kinsey, 27, of 164 Taylor Ridge Road, Resaca, admitted to police he had sex with the girl in the vehicle, according to the report, and said he knew how old she was. Kinsey is charged with littering; public indecency; loitering; sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He remained in the Whitfield County Jail Wednesday night on a $10,000 bond.
The teenager was cited for loitering, littering, unruly child and public indecency and was taken to the Dalton Regional Youth Detention Center.
