Local cycling enthusiasts won't watch Tour de Georgia riders sprint through downtown Dalton and onto Chatsworth this April.
Murray and Whitfield counties were left out of the 2008 Tour de Georgia race route, which was unveiled this morning. The announcement was expected by local officials who had learned the route would shift to the eastern part of the state, including Augusta, Blairsville, Dahlonega and Gainesville.
The race will be held April 21-27, 2008
