• The Concerned Clergy of Greater Whitfield County will host a men’s rally Sept. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Greater St. James Overcoming Church of God. The focus of the event is to develop strong, positive, responsible black males.

Bishop Marvin L. McMillan of Charlotte, N.C., pastor of Galilean Deliverance Center Church, Sound of Praise, will be the guest speaker. He is an evangelist, prophet, theologian, singer and preacher.

• True Gospel Pentecostal Church will host “This is Your Life” honoring Brother Ray Burse Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service.

The youth from Calvary Baptist Church recently experienced a wild and crazy ride tubing down the Toccoa River. The church is at 2115 Murray Ave. in Dalton.



• Kenny Williamson will sing during Sunday at 11 a.m. at City View Church of God.

• Mountain Ridge Baptist Church will observe Youth Day Set. 13 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The theme is “It’s the God in Me!”

Lunch will be served following the morning service.

• Perry-Reed and Company, featuring Debbie Perry (formerly of The Perrys) will be in concert Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at Olivia Baptist Church.

• Bluegrass-gospel group Right Path will sing Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at Cove Baptist Church.

• Riverbend Baptist Church will have its first Saturday night singing today at 6 p.m.

The church is located on Riverbend Road in Dalton.



• Master’s Messengers will be in concert Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at Tennga Baptist Church.

The church is on Tennga-Gregory Road in Tennga. The public is invited.



• The Ingrams of Cleveland will sing Sept. 13 at North Georgia Baptist Temple during the 6 p.m. service.

The church is at 1623 Abutment Road in Dalton.



• The women of Bethel A.M.E. Church will host a women’s prayer breakfast Sept. 12 at 9 a.m.

Guest speakers will discuss ways to deal with stress in relationships, health and finances. Participants may get their blood pressure checked and a massage.

The church is at 620 Spring St. in Dalton.



• Spring Place Baptist Church will have an AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) kickoff Sept. 20 from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. All children ages 3 to 11 are invited.

• The Calvary Singers of Calvary Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill will be in concert Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Crandall.

• The women of Bethel A.M.E. Church will celebrate their annual Women’s Day Sept. 20 at noon.

Dr. Angela Harris, assistant pastor of New Bethel Christian Fellowship Church in LaFayette, will be the guest speaker. The theme is “Women too Blessed to be Stressed.” Lunch will be served following the service.

• Lakeshore Park Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. with Young Brock as guest speaker. Lunch will be served after the service.

The church is at 12 Crescent St. in Dalton.



• Chatsworth Church of Christ will celebrate homecoming Sept. 20 at 10:30 a.m. with Pacer Blevins as guest speaker. Lunch will be served after the service, followed by another service at 1:30.

A gospel meeting will be held Sept. 21-23 at 7 p.m. with a fellowship meal at 6.
