The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help with identifying a man who loaded up a grocery cart with merchandise at the Shugart Road Walmart and then hastily pushed it out the front door without paying. The man was recorded by the store’s surveillance system.
The incident happened just before 2:30 a.m. on July 12. The suspect, a white male with gray hair, glasses and a short gray goatee, placed several items in his shopping cart and then immediately made his way out of the store, getting into a green Dodge Caravan minivan. A store employee reported that the minivan did not have a license plate, but did have a butterfly sticker on one of the passenger side windows. The suspect wore a black T-shirt and blue jean shorts.
Anyone with information on the identity of this suspect is asked to contact Detective Jason Bishop with the Dalton Police Department at (706) 278-9085, extension 214.
