A man struck by a vehicle Saturday night on Brown Bridge Road remains in critical condition at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
According to an incident report by the Georgia State Patrol, the driver of a pickup truck was blinded by the headlights of an oncoming vehicle and didn’t see John Timothy Davenport, 46, of Chatsworth, walking down the road with his back to traffic.
Davenport was hit by the truck’s right front headlight, but the driver didn’t realize what he had hit until he turned around to go back to the scene, according to the report.
The driver was not charged.
