DALTON —
Members of Dalton Dance Company will perform in Dalton Arts Project’s “Do You Remember?” spring concert — a look back at the music they grew up with as well as the music enjoyed by previous generations of teenagers (now parents and grandparents).
Performers will showcase their abilities in ballet, jazz, modern and tap dance techniques. These dance numbers, featuring a variety of music as well as technical special effects, weave together a tapestry of memorable music and choreography that pays tribute to the dance styles inspired by the music.
The cast includes: Heather Brewer, Courtney Creswell, April DeLozier, Katelyn Fischer, Katie Beth Jewell, Lynsey King, Sarah Lovingood, Jillian Misner, Caroline Mitchell, Elizabeth Pate, Chelsea Rancudo, Allyson Rogers, Natalia Santiago, Christiana Willocks, Sarah Whitney Anderson, Vivian Butler, Mary Chandler Crutchfield, Emma Elrod, Jessica Fannin, Whittney Graves, Katie Beth Jenkins, Molly Martin, Georgeanne Mitchell, Meg Mitchell, Vail Ponitz, Audrey Sigmon, Jordan Walker, Ashton Wong, Erin Farmer, Fleming Farrow, Kathryn Harbin, Marion Hawkins, Lauren Hooie, Katherine Marcadis, Maddie Mitchell, Kate Orr, Melody Palmer, Chandler Renz, Kristi Russell, Susannah Tighe, Ashley Yarbrough, Natalie Zuspan, Bailey Everett, Emily Herring, Lilly Marcadis, Meghan McCurry, Sarah McIntosh, Mary Morrow, Christiana Parker, Katherine Ann Sheppard, Courtney Street, Paige Watkins, Anna Grace Wilson and community dancers John Hooie, Will Kiker, Caleb Satterfield, Zack Harper, Austin Olson, Chaston Asbury, Madison Rogers, Nick Marcadis, Brady Willocks, Watts Dantzler, Zach Reed, Toombs Norman, Jared Langham, Quinton Williams, Hector Prieto, Cody Patterson and Trevor Wofford.
Several pieces have been set especially for this production and many choreographers have been involved in preparing the show including Berrien Long, Lori Beth Edgeman, Ryann Payne, Bettye Jo Wilson, Marla McClure Thomas, Marcus Alford, Dustin Phillips, and students Lynsey King, Katie Beth Jewell, Susannah Tighe and Lauren Hooie. This mix of old and new choreography will take the dancers and their audiences back in time, reminiscing not only of the first five years of Dalton Dance Company but also of the musical lifestyles inspired by the 1950s, 1960s, disco and artist Michael Jackson.
This high-energy dance production opens Friday at 7:30 p.m. with additional performances at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. performance on Sunday, March 28. The location for all performances is the Dalton High Theatre at 1500 Manly St.
Tickets will be available in advance at the Dance Theatre of Dalton or at the door. Tickets prices are $5 for students and $10 for adults. As in past years, the proceeds from opening night ticket sales will be donated to a worthy cause. This year, the dancers have chosen the Haiti Relief Fund of the American Red Cross as their dancing-for-a-cause recipient for Friday night’s performance.
