• City View Church of God hosts a gospel singing featuring Copper City, Heart to Heart, Lisa Herald and The Gospel 3 Sunday at 6 p.m. The church is at 3688 Chatsworth Highway in Dalton. Pastor Gerald Foster invites everyone.
• Homecoming at Concord United Methodist Church in Villanow is Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with singing by The Millionaires and Sing for the King. The worship service begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by dinner on the grounds and more singing. The church is on Concord Church Road, less than a mile off Highway 136. • A revival for Harmony Grove Baptist Church will be June 3-9 with Evangelists Crafton Dover and Crawford Greeson. • Hopewell Baptist Church in Cohutta celebrates its 154th Homecoming Sunday. Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. featuring a special singing by Shields of Faith. Pastor John Taylor invites everyone.
• Mount Vernon United Methodist Church will have a Vacation Bible School Kickoff Celebration on Sunday, June 24 from 5 to 6 p.m. Vacation Bible School will be June 25-28 from 6 to 8 p.m. (snack supper at 5:30 p.m.) The theme is “Cokesbury’s Operation Overboard: Dare to Go Deep with God!”
• Mt. Calvary Baptist Church hosts a gospel singing to benefit Jim White on Saturday, June 9 at 3 p.m. All proceeds will be matched by the home office of Modern Woodmen of America up to $1,500. The money will be used to help pay for White’s medical expenses. Modern Woodmen of America Chapter 16467 in Rocky Face is the event sponsor.
• New Covenant Deliverance Tabernacle hosts a youth celebration on Sunday at 4 p.m. The theme is “Youth Stride — Dependable, Dedicated and Determined.” The scripture reference is from Romans 8:38-39. Minister Corey D. Prather is the guest soloist and speaker. The church is at 1406 Lida St., formerly known as Crown Circle, where Melanie C. Prather is the pastor. Everyone is invited.
• New Haven United Methodist Church has its Homecoming on Sunday, June 3. Come and enjoy the singing group, The Millionaires, from Lafayette, and a monologue of Ruth by Genevieve DeHoog. A covered dish lunch will follow the service.
The youth fellowship for any school age children is Sunday from 12:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. A short devotional will be followed with lunch and movies.
The summer lunch program begins June 4 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is available to children 18 and younger.
The time for the food pantry pick-up has been changed to 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. beginning June 5 during the summer months. It will still be on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

• Riverbend Church of Christ operates a benevolence house for the public of northwest Georgia. The church’s goal is to assist families in need by offering necessities such as clothing (men, women and children), shoes and household items. Services are free and available to anyone in need. It is in the small white house just south of the church building at 2218 S. Riverbend Road, Dalton. The house is open every Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; other times must be by appointment. • Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church celebrates Homecoming Sunday. The church will celebrate its annual Spring Revival Monday through Thursday with C. Medley Haynes, pastor of Greater Beulah Baptist Church in Columbus, as the revivalist. The public is invited each night. The services begin at 7.

A man police say was murdered when his attacker ran over him in his yard with a pickup truck told a 911 operator the offender broke in his house and began threatening him.
