The vehicle of an Ellijay man killed in a wreck on Duvall Road in Murray County last week may have crossed the center line before hitting another vehicle, according to an incident report from the Chatsworth Police Department.
According to the report, the white Honda Civic that 36-year-old Brigido Jacinto-Perez was driving north on Duvall near the Greystone subdivision appeared to cross the double yellow lines, colliding with a silver Dodge Ram 3500 with one person inside. The wreck happened at about 7:30 a.m.
The report says the Dodge Ram was heading south on Duvall and going uphill around a curve where the crash occurred. The impact spun the truck off the road but didn’t injure the driver.
Chatsworth Police Department Officer Andy Fraser said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab is doing a toxicology report that will show whether Jacinto-Perez was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Fraser said the report could take a few days or several months to complete depending on how busy lab technicians are.
