• Anthony Boyd Davenport, 55, 1136 N. Bridge Road, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of firearm or knife while trying to commit a crime, possession of marijuana, sale or manufacturing of amphetamines of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.
• Cecilia Alexandra Davis, 28, 395 Florence Ave., 5B, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with sale or intent to sale marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of schedule four drugs, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of a crime (burglary).
• Regina Charlene Doremus, 44, 174C Keith Ave., Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of firearm or knife while trying to commit a crime, possession of marijuana, sale or manufacturing of amphetamines of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.
• Duandre Jamar Dorsey, 27, 215 Griffin St., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with aggravated battery, simple battery against law enforcement personnel, first degree forgery, DUI, willful obstruction by threat or violence (two counts), giving false information, reckless driving and failure to yield when entering or crossing roadway.
• Luis Antonio Flores, 20, 1405 Heather Way, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation, misdemeanor probation violation and safety belt violation.
• Derek James Miglia, 30, 204 Edgewood Ave., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation.
• Cornelius Dewayne O’Neal, 31, 3530 Thomas Drive, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
• Douglas Riley Payne, 44, 174C Keith Ave., Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of firearm or knife while trying to commit a crime, possession of marijuana, sale or manufacturing of amphetamines of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.
• John Matthew Thompson, 30, 2076 Martin’s Chapel, Springfield, Tenn., was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation.
• Michael Edward Cage, 49, 199 Aztec Way, Rocky Face, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with misdemeanor probation violation and felony probation violation.
• Marcos Rosillo Conchola, 28, 331 Peter St., Calhoun, was placed Wednesday on a hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Whitfield County jail.
• Carlos Romero, 39, 157 Riverside Drive, Calhoun, was placed Wednesday on a hold for ICE at the Whitfield County jail.

‘It was a brutal time’

Dr. William Blackman opened a box of tools consisting of medical instruments, including a saw, and proceeded to tell visitors how they were used more than a century ago to amputate limbs for soldiers wounded on the battlefield.
