Lamar Marshall turns chicken quarters on the grill at the Smoke Shack booth Saturday during the Downtown Dalton BBQ & Music Festival. More than two dozen teams from across the nation are in Dalton to compete in the contest sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. The barbecue competition continues today, when the people’s choice awards will take place. Musical acts today include three Dalton groups: Right Path Bluegrass, Gary Stanley and Spatial Effects. They will start performing around noon on Dalton Green stage.
