Accused murderer gets high bond

A Murray County man accused of stabbing Charles Milo Congden to death in November received a bond of $500,000 before Superior Court Judge Jack Partain.

Dwayne Louis Fowler, who was 36 and living at 57 N. White Oak Drive when he was charged by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office, was still in jail as of Friday afternoon. The numerous bond conditions for the felony murder charge include a requirement that he wear an ankle monitor, remain under house arrest, have no contact with certain individuals involved in the case and not possess any firearms or knives.

Authorities said the killing happened following an argument at a residential area off North White Oak Drive where several people had been drinking. The neighborhood is off of Ga. Highway 225 south of Spring Place. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist in the inquiry.
