Blood Assurance presents the first “Battle of the Banks” sponsored by Alliance National Bank of Dalton.
Blood Assurance, headquartered in Chattanooga, is a community blood center that relies on 400 volunteer blood donors each day in order to meet the needs of 56 area health care facilities, including Hamilton Medical Center and Murray County Hospital.
This nonprofit organization is the sole supplier of these institutions with life-saving blood products. Blood Assurance blood donors are a valuable asset not only to these hospitals, but to the patients who are in need of a safe, adequate blood supply.
The need for blood is constant and affects almost everyone at some point in their lives. Studies show that there is a 95 percent chance an individual will need blood by the age of 72. The need for blood varies from major accidents and trauma to burn treatment, cancer treatment and routine surgeries. Although people require blood for various reasons, one aspect that cannot vary is the ability of our region to maintain an adequate blood supply for those in need. This is a combined effort of Blood Assurance, area hospitals and, most importantly, our volunteer blood donors.
Please come out on Tuesday to Alliance National Bank at 210 W. Morris St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to support the life-saving mission of Blood Assurance and to “Help Your Bank Feed Our Bank.” For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call Lisa O’Neal at (706) 279-1600, ext. 1028.
