Wine “maketh glad the heart of men,” the Bible says. And this Friday, it can also support the arts in Dalton.
The second annual Downtown Dalton Wine and Dine Festival will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Dalton freight depot.
“We’ll have over 30 different kinds of wine from all over the world,” said Downtown Dalton Development Authority Marketing Director Veronica French. “We’ll have wine from small makers. We’ll also have some larger makers such as Jacob’s Creek from Australia. And the Georgia Winery will be there with 10 selections.”
Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door and can be purchased at www.downtowndalton.com. Designated drivers will be admitted free.
In addition to wine, there will be samples of food from the Dalton Depot Restaurant, the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center, the Oakwood Cafe and Creative Confections and Bakery. The event will feature music from the Ralph Miller Trio.
“The proceeds from the festival go to our arts and culture project. We’ll be working with the library and the Creative Arts Guild and the Dalton Little Theatre on their projects as well,” said French.
