Democratic candidate forum today

DALTON — Georgia 9th Congressional Democratic Party’s county committees will hold a candidate forum today from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center. Nineteen candidates for state or federal offices have been invited, and 14 are scheduled to attend. There’s no admission charge, and the public is encouraged to attend.

• Governor: Thurbert Baker, Roy Barnes, Carl Camon, Dubose Porter, David Poythress

• Lieutenant governor: Carol Porter

• U.S. Senate: R.J. Hadley

• Secretary of state: Gail Buckner, Darryl Hicks, Gary Horlacher, Michael Mills, Angela Moore

• Attorney general: Ken Hodges, Rob Teilhet

• Insurance commissioner: Mary Squires

• State school superintendent: Beth Farokhi, Brian Westlake

• U.S. House of Representatives, Georgia District 9: Mike Freeman

• Georgia Senate District 51: Joseph Mann
