The open house promoted the center's annual fundraiser, 24 Hours of Hope, which will start on Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. at the Rush Fitness Center at the mall. Ellis, a former center participant, will attempt to run the equivalent of five marathons on a treadmill in 24 hours.
