The Dalton Parks and Recreation Department has a number of special events planned at Heritage Point Park for today’s Independence Day holiday.
The festivities kick off at 3 p.m. with registration for the Little Miss Rec contest and the eating contests. The Little Miss Rec contest starts at 5 p.m., a Krystal eating contest is at 6 and a Little Debbie eating contest is at 6:30.
From 7 to 9 p.m., the park will host professional wrestling. Then at 9:30 the evening concludes with a fireworks display.
In addition to all of the events at Heritage Point, the swimming pool at the John Davis Center will be open from noon to 6 p.m.
