• Edy Ivan Mares, 23, 1522 Byron St., Apt. 24, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
• Raymond Leroy Cisco, 51, 331 Robinson Road, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Chatsworth Police Department with public drunkenness, possession of xanax and drugs in wrong container.
• Balentin Reynoso Mendez, 29, 223 Center St., Cedartown, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, loud music and driving without a license.
• Roman Don Sanchez, 45, 1114 Old Grade Road, Resaca, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with DUI and failure to maintain lane.
• Michael Troy West, 35, 9327 Highway 52 E., Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, improper tag, no insurance, driving vehicle when registration suspended/revoked and following too closely.

Photo released of jewelry theft suspect
The Dalton Police Department released a picture of one of the men who allegedly ripped off an area jewelry store of about $7,500 in a “bait and switch” style theft on Saturday. The theft happened at Casa Blanca’s Jewelry. The suspect pictured, who identified himself as Luis Solis and presented an apparently fake Nevada driver’s license, also posed for a picture for the store clerk during the transaction. Dalton’s pawn broker ordinance requires all sellers to be photographed by the store. The two suspects were described as Hispanic males with slightly heavyset/stocky builds. Both wore jeans, with one man wearing a dark blue polo shirt with white stripes and the other wearing a lighter blue or white shirt. One suspect had a ponytail and facial hair.
