Entrepreneurs invited to resource rally at Dalton State

Entrepreneurs and small business owners from across northwest Georgia are invited to a free interactive workshop at Dalton State College on Friday, Oct. 26.

The Entrepreneur Resource Rally is co-sponsored by the Center for Economic Research and Entrepreneurship (CERE) of Dalton State’s School of Business and the Southeast Industrial Development Association (SEIDA).

“The theme of our workshop is ‘Growing Entrepreneurs in Rural Communities’ and we invite all entrepreneurs, small business owners, elected officials and economic developers to join us for a program that will provide them with a myriad of resources that are available to help launch and sustain thriving businesses,” said Larry Johnson, interim dean of Dalton State’s School of Business.

Johnson said the workshop will include an interactive discussion with a panel of experienced entrepreneurs who will share their best practice and secrets to success. Information about financing opportunities and federal, state, regional and local resources will also be presented as well as opportunities for networking.

Additional sponsors include North Georgia Electric Membership Corp. and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development. Supporting partners include the Chambers of Commerce from Catoosa County, Chattooga County, Chatsworth-Eton-Murray County, Dade County, Gordon County, Greater Dalton and Walker County.

Those wanting more information about the free program should contact SEIDA at (423) 424-4245; those wishing to register can contact the CERE at cere@daltonstate.edu or (706) 272-4580.
