DALTON —
A Dalton man has been arrested in connection with the shooting his father and brother, as well as shooting and injuring his mother, following a domestic dispute in Dalton Sunday morning, according to the Dalton Police Department.
Emilio Christopher Canales, 21, of 1011 Dude St., off North Hamilton Street, has been arrested for the shooting, which occurred at the residence around 9:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Dalton Police Department.
Emilio Canales, Sr., 50, and Emilio Francisco Canales, 31, were found dead from gunshot wounds at the scene, according to the release.
Deborah J. Canales, 50, fled to a neighbor’s house after being shot, the release states. She was cared for by neighbors until help arrived and was then transported to Hamilton Medical Center. No information about her condition was available early Sunday afternoon.
A neighbor called 911 after hearing gunshots from within the house, the release states.
Emilio Christopher Canales was arrested a few hours later by a Whitfield County deputy after Dalton Police investigators issued a lookout, the release states.
The incident is still under investigation, but officials believe there are no other suspects, said Bruce Frazier, spokesman for the Dalton Police Department.
