Whitfield County students named to the list are Christina Bean, Christina Brindle, Mickey Cooper, Alan Elder, Hannah Hudson, Nichole Hunt, Kristen Lake, Jairo Lerma, Nayeli Mondragon, Michael Murphree, Sylvia Ochoa, Katie Palmer, Ashleigh Thomas and Whitney Worley-Nabell.
• Tallie Renae Williams, daughter of Wallace and Tammie Williams of Dalton, was named to the fall 2011 president’s list honor roll at North Georgia College and State University for achieving a 4.0 grade point average.
• Taylor Kristen Hayes of Dalton was named to the fall 2011 dean’s list at Shorter University for achieving a grade point average of at least 3.5.
• Kendall Jackson of Dalton and Cynthia Ellis of Chatsworth were named to the fall 2011 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University. Students enrolled with at least 15 credit hours who enroll in at least three hours of work during the semester and achieve a 3.5 grade point average are named to the list.
• Jillian Misner of Dalton was named to the fall 2011 dean’s list at Denison University in Ohio for achieving a grade point average of 3.7 or better for the semester.
• Normal Fleet of Dalton was named to the fall 2011 president’s list at LeTourneau University in Texas for achieving a 4.0 grade point average.
• Herbie Smith of Rocky Face has earned highest honors for the fall 2011 semester at the University of New Hampshire for earning a semester grade point average of 3.7 or better.
• Valdosta State University named several local students to the fall 2011 dean’s list for achieving a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 while maintaining an overall average of at least 3.0 and carrying at least nine semester hours. They are Chatsworth residents Elizabeth Elaine Belles, Montana Lee Gray and Sara Marie Walls; and Dalton residents Andrea Elizabeth Gordon, Austin Michael Fowler, Cynthia D. Pierce Wilson and Luke James Leviner.
• Several local residents graduated from Valdosta State University in December. They are David Joseph Young of Dalton, with a bachelor of business administration in accounting; Kayla LeAnne Brown of Dalton, with a bachelor of science in biology; and Kimberly Anne Baker of Cohutta, with a bachelor of science in education, early childhood education.
