Dalton/Whitfield Sharing is Caring Community Christmas is a community-based project designed to provide Christmas for children in Whitfield County who are living in poverty or whose family’s circumstances might prevent them from receiving Christmas gifts
On Dec. 11 from 1 to 7 p.m., Dec. 13 from 1 to 7 p.m. and Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the community will hold the Sharing is Caring Christmas Store at the North Georgia Fairgrounds. Parents will come at designated times to shop for free gifts to give to their child at Christmas.
We are relying on the generosity and volunteerism in our community to make this process work. Collaboratively, we will be serving around 650 families.
We need toys and clothing for more than 1,500 children, ages infant to 18. We are accepting donations of new toys at the fairgrounds (Commercial Exhibits Building 2), Dec. 6, 7, 10, 12 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Without the support of the community, Christmas would not be possible for these families.
Financial donations are also accepted. To mail in financial donations, send to the Sharing is Caring Christmas Club Fund, c/o Jackie Taylor, Finance Chairman, 405 School St., Dalton, GA 30720. Make checks payable to “United Way” and in the “for” line put “Sharing is Caring Christmas Club.”
Please call (706) 876-4379, email sharingiscaringchristmas@gmail.com or visit http://tinyurl.com/daltoncommchristmas for any questions or to sign up to volunteer.
