A Chatsworth man is in jail without bond after a 16-year-old girl said the man — who is her mother’s boyfriend — raped her Wednesday.
Phillip Ray Cooper, 37, 223 Keith Ave., Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with rape and aggravated sodomy.
According to an incident report, the girl told police Cooper woke her up shortly after 1 a.m. while she was sleeping, grabbed her by her hair and made her go into the living room where pornography was playing on the television.
The report stated he eventually undressed her and forced her to have sex with him, then made her take a shower afterwards.
“He also told her that if she told anyone that they would not believe her and that he would make her life like hell,” according to the report.
The girl was taken to Murray Medical Center for an examination.
