‘Dalton’s Got Talent’ gets under way today

Prepare to attend the biggest talent show of the year as the winners of “Dalton’s Got Talent” auditions held in December 2012, will compete today and Saturday in two divisions to see who has talent.

Shows on both days are from 6 to 11 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Audition winners who will be competing Saturday evening in the 13-year-old and up live show include William Alderman, Michael Allen, Darlene Arnold, Stephen Busie, Angela Childers, Crystal Coker, Alicia Cole, Eddie Davenport, Stacy Dillard, Linda Fitzgerald, Christian Harris, Devonte Harris, Jordan Hughes, Jeremy Robinson, Raymond Southern, Jamie Steadman, Shanice Taylor, Katie Vayens, Ellanesha Washington and Alex Wilbanks.

In the 12-year-old and under category audition winners are Victoria Duncan, Khloe Fitzgerald, Kendall Gee, Madison Phelps, Morgan Long, James Mosteller, Peyton Sanford, Shelby Satterfield and Emily Whaley.

“Dalton’s Got Talent” is the brainchild of Creative Arts Guild music instructor Colby Jones who wanted an opportunity to raise money for the music department while showcasing the amazing talent of people in Dalton.

Tickets are $8 for children and seniors 65 and over and $12 for general admission. Winnings of $250 will go to the 5- to 11-year-old winner; $500 will go to the 12 years-plus winner plus an opening performance in the 2013 In Concert Series. All ticket sale proceeds support the music programs at the Guild.
