Tickets are now on sale for the Martin Luther King Jr. dinner on Saturday, Jan. 19, at First Baptist Church of Dalton.
Last year’s attendance reached nearly 125 and an even larger turnout is expected for the 2013 celebration. Nwandi Lawson, a personality in public service broadcasting and CEO of Reve Productions, is the featured speaker. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Howard University and taught in her hometown of San Francisco before joining CNN in Atlanta. Her extensive background in educational, business and political radio and television programming promises an interesting evening.
The $25 tickets are available at the Mack Gaston Community Center, Willis Funeral Home and by phone at (706) 529-6974. They are also available from the following committee members: Joan McGovern, Stacie Kilgore, Debbie Madden, Domeika Roberson, The Rev. Windell Smith, Mary Suttles and Glenda Thomas.
