DPD seeks man in burglary, auto theft

The Dalton Police Department is asking for information from the public regarding the whereabouts of 22-year-old Jeremy Lorenzo Arteaga. He is wanted in connection with a burglary and auto theft that happened on June 27. Arteaga’s last known address was 205 Windy Hill Drive in Rocky Face.

The incident happened between noon and 1:45 p.m. The two victims left their house at 604 Richardson St. to get lunch. When they returned, they saw that their other car, a 2002 silver Nissan Altima, was missing from the driveway. They also found that the front door was unlocked. When they entered the house, they found that it appeared to have been ransacked, and the back door had been kicked open. In addition to the missing Altima, a laptop computer, a flat screen TV, an iPhone and an Xbox were missing along with other items.

Investigators received a tip that Arteaga was involved in the incident, and after following up on several leads they obtained warrants for his arrest. Anyone with information on Arteaga’s whereabouts is asked to please contact Detective Chris Tucker with the Dalton Police Department at (706) 278-9085, ext. 165.
