• The 2009 L.N. “Smiley” Gregg Memorial Benefit Concert that was recently presented at Dalton First United Methodist Church will be broadcast on WDNN (Charter Channel 10) Sunday at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The concert of music by René Clausen featured “A New Creation,” a cantata for choir, soloists and orchestra. The offering received for the benefit of the local chapters of Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers Big Sisters totaled $20,177.50.

• A control-rebellion-rejection workshop will be Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Calhoun Convention Center in Calhoun. The workshop includes teaching, hands-on experience and activation around the control-rebellion-rejection cycle and is led by Crawford and Dorathy Railey. The Raileys are directors of Life Center Healing and Deliverance Ministry.

• The Identification Tour featuring speaker Cody Deese and music by The Jason Cox Band will come to Mount Rachel Baptist Church Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Admission is free. All area sixth through 12th graders are welcome.

• The Rev. Mike Robinson will be the guest speaker Sunday at 11 a.m. at East Side Baptist Church.

The church is at 913 E. Morris St. in Dalton.



• The Dawnville United Methodist Men will sponsor Awesome Autumn Adventure Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Barbecue chicken plates will be $6 and include slaw, baked beans, bread, tea and dessert.

The church is at 1409 Dawnville Road in Dalton.



• Smyrna Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sept. 20 at 10:30 a.m. with former pastor the Rev. Tom Turner as guest speaker.

Special music will be presented by the choir. A special offering will be received for the church cemetery fund. Lunch will be served after the service.

The church is on Smyrna Church Road in Chatsworth.



• Carolyn Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. Music minister Trammell Suddeth and his family will also be recognized for 33 years of service.

Lunch will be served after the service.

The church is at 2305 Cleveland Highway in Dalton.



• Sing for the King will have an anniversary singing Sept. 19 from 3 to 10 p.m. at Heritage Point Park in Dalton.

Singers include Phil Hawley, New Liberty Boys, The Boys of Alabama, New Paved Road, Renewed, Eight Days After and Randall Oliver of Sing for the King. There will also be food, a cakewalk, door prizes and silent auction.

Heritage Point Park is at 1275 Cross Plains Trail.



• Brother Ellis Chasteen will be the guest speaker Sunday at 5 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Dalton.

The church is on Maddox Chapel Road in Dalton.



• Salem Baptist Church has added an 8 a.m. worship service beginning Sunday.

Sunday school is held at 9 a.m. followed by another worship service at 10. Evening worship begins at 6.

The church is on Pleasant Grove Drive in Dalton.



• Fellowship Bible Church will highlight six mini-movies Sept. 20 to Oct. 25 during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

The movies are a collection of biblical dramas showcasing different places in the Bible where God steps in and meets a need for a desperate person or group of people. Pastor Jim Suddath will set up the movies with historical backdrops and offer practical applications to modern-day experiences.

The movie series is produced by Crown Ministries.

The church is at 2044 Dug Gap Road in Dalton.



• Full Gospel Tabernacle will host a community fellowship Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. featuring games, food and fellowship. Admission is free.

The church is on Cliffmine Road in Chatsworth.



• A benefit singing for liver transplant patient Mistie Langford will be held Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Murray County High School auditorium. Singers include Reign Song and Eight Days After. Proceeds will go towards medical bills.

Murray County High School is on Green Road in Chatsworth.



• New Life Baptist Church will be in revival Sept. 14-18 at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Ricky Gravley as guest speaker.

There will be a choir and special singing each night. A nursery will be available.

The church is at 2620 Old Grade Road in Dalton. Pastor Brother Rick Spence welcomes everyone.



• Reach Out ‘09 “Praise in the Park” will be held Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at Heritage Point Park with Pastor Trey Starnes as speaker. Special music guests are:

Sept. 30 — From the Heart and One Purpose

Oct. 1 — Southern Grace and Voices Won

Oct. 2 — Mercy Call and The Trailblazers

The event is sponsored by the Church of God of the Union Assembly. Heritage Point Park is located off the North Bypass in Dalton.



• “Faith Night 2009” will be held Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center with host pastor E. Jonathan Thomas Jr. and Apostle Fredrick K.C. Price as guest speaker.

The event is presented by World Restoration Center in Chattanooga.

The convention center is at 1150 Carter St. in Chattanooga.



• Fellowship Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with David Whitner as guest speaker.

There will also be special music. Lunch will be served after the service.

The church is at 3323 Crider Road in Rocky Face.
